Bladder Diverticulum

Our urologists treat bladder diverticula, which are pouches in the bladder wall that a person is either born with or they acquire later in life. A person can develop a bladder diverticulum when they’re born when the bladder lining pokes through an underdeveloped part of the bladder wall. A bladder diverticulum developed later in life occurs when there is a blockage in the bladder outlet.

Bladder Diverticulum Symptoms:

  • Difficulty urinating
  • Bladder stones or tumors
  • Urinary tract infections

How We Diagnose Bladder Diverticulum:

Most often, bladder diverticula have no direct signs. They are found while looking for causes of other urinary problems.
